Powerpoint on Present tense + 2 verbs

You finished your Grand Voyage projects! We are currently reviewing some of what we've done this year, before we move onto the final mini unit.

We are reviewing the present tense, and adding 2 verbs (helper verb + infinitive)

Our last unit it on consumerism and products, so I put a fun "spin" on how to conjugate verbs (review) using t-shirts, price tags, and accessories.

Here is the powerpoint: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1J7y224mKw9PftusuUmm3Q2TYHZAx9DKa9qWv1UaFNtI/edit?usp=sharing

We are also reviewing some common questions you should be able to answer at this point using vocabulary and grammar points learned.

> You had some time to study for the listening test today, using Quizlet.
We reviewed as a class, then you studied in your table groups.
I reminded you of the "star" feature on Quizlet. You can star the terms you need to remember!

> We completed the listening test

> We practiced some more vocabulary: things you should bring with you on vacation.
Presenting them in the Imperative- commands
"Voyagez à (city), Apportez (item)"

> Taking turns (partner A/B) I projected images and you figured out what city it was, and what item(s) to bring

> Your ticket out the door was to tell me what you have to bring when you go on vacation.
Je dois apporter...

We've been working on the unit "Le grand voyage!" (The big trip!)
To practice our listening skills we've been watching this movie
and doing some activities with new and learned vocabulary.

We have completed 3 activity sheets:
1 - "Le Petit Nicolas, un classique de la littérature française" the magazine article with Sandrine
2 - Vocabulary matching, and matching descriptions to people from the movie
3 - Reading a postcard and answering questions on it.

You will have a listening test next class
it is based on the vocabulary learned in the activity sheets.
DAY 2: Thursday
DAY 1: Friday

I will post a translation of the postcard below, under the cut.

Keep working on Duolingo!

After the listening test we will be reviewing all of the grammar points learned this unit along with some vocabulary, and then you will get started on your final projects for the unit!

We have been working with modal (also called helper) verbs! You completed this person "BINGO" by walking around and asking people in the class travel questions.

Reminder:
Helper verbs "help" the sentence by giving more information!

Some helper verbs:
Vouloir (to want)
Devoir (to have to)
Pouvoir (to be able to)
Aimer (to like)
Aller (to go)
Préférer (to prefer)
Détester (to hate)

E.g.
Je danse => Je veux danser
I dance => I want to dance

The helper verb is conjugated in the present tense, the second verb in the sentence is unconjugated, it is in the infinitive! (meaning it ends in -ER, -RE or -IR)

Extra practice:
Add a helper verb to these sentences to make them match the English translation.
*Remember: Helper verb (present) + Verb 2 (infinitive)*

e.g.
Question: Je nage dans l'océan : I hate swimming in the ocean
Réponse: Je déteste nager dans l'océan

1. Je voyage à Tokyo:  I want to travel to Tokyo.
2. Tu aimes ma valise: You have to like my suitcase.
3. Ils choisissent un voyage: They can choose a trip.
4. Nous avons les billets: We like to have the tickets.
5. Vous allez en France: You prefer to go to France

Answers under the cut.
